Ryan Kent scored Ranger's first goal in their old firm derby game against Celtic before the New Year. On 37 minutes, Rangers sensationally took the lead, from Borna Barisic down the left at the end of some outstanding one-touch football ended with him picking out the incoming Ryan Kent on the edge of the area, and his first-time shot was just wonderful as it kissed the inside of the post on its way into the back of the net.

Rangers are second in the Scottish Premiership, 2 points behind Celtic with a game in hand.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis received another call up to the Manchester City first team, in their FA Cup game against Port Vale. first senior goal. City began the defence of the FA Cup with a comfortable 4-1 victory over the League Two side at the Etihad. After 45 minutes City were 2-1 up until just past the hour when – after another lengthy VAR check – City went 3-1 up. John Stones’ shot towards goal struck Harwood-Bellis’ knee on its way into the net. Speaking about the goal Taylor said “I didn’t quite know how to react to scoring as I’ve not been in a game with VAR before.”

 

 

Goals from Jensen Weir and Kyle Joseph saw Latics U18's progress into the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup this week. Not long after half time Kyle slotted home from the edge of the six-yard box and make it 2-0 to Latics. Kyle has now scored 4 goals in FA Youth Cup games and has helped the team to their 13th consecutive win. 

 

 

Cheltenham town secured a solid 3-0 victory over Oldham Athletic at the weekend. Max Sheaf returned to the squad and was the first on the score sheet, scoring his first league goal for Cheltenham just before half time. Good news also came for Max this week as he extended his loan deal with the Robins Watch the goal below: 

 

 

 

Ben Sheaf has also extended his loan with Doncaster Rovers until the end of the season. The 21-year old has played 25 times for Rovers since his arrival from North London in the summer and has shown his versatility often playing alongside Ben Whiteman in midfield but covering the centre-back role when required. Ben said: “I’m extremely happy to be staying until the end of the season.“It’s a fantastic club with great fans, staff and players. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and I’m looking forward to a positive second half of the season.”
