Ryan Kent returned to action for Rangers in the Scottish League Cup Semi-final last weekend. Ryan helped the team to a 3-0 win over Hearts and into their first league cup final since 2011 and was involved in all 3 goals. Rangers’ first goal came when Borna Barisic’s ball was cleared as far as Ryan Kent who was 35-yards from goal. He slipped Morelos in down the left, and from there, the Colombian delivered a super pass across the face of goal, with Filip Helander the man gambling to get on with it. The second goal of the afternoon when a cross from Ryan was nodded onto the foot of Tavernier by Ojo, and from the edge of the six-yard box and nicely slotted home by Alfredo Morelos. Goal number three arrived on 62 minutes. After playing a delightful one-two with Morelos on the edge of the area, Ryan burst into the area, skinned Aaron Hickey and laid it on a plate for Morelos.
Max Sheaf scored his first senior goal for Cheltenham Town this week in their Leasing.com Trophy match against Newport County. Cheltenham Town got an equaliser after 17 minutes, when eventually the ball made its way to Addai who sublimely sent a backheel through the centre halves for Max Sheaf to smash into the top corner. Man City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Chelsea midfielder Henry Lawrence both received international call ups to the England U19’s squad this week. They kicked-off their U19 EURO qualifying campaign with a solid 4-0 win against Luxembourg on Wednesday afternoon. And an early goal from Taylor Harwood-Bellis set them on their way after a set-piece from his Manchester City team-mate and captain Tommy Doyle after just 7 minutes.
Wigan Athletic U18 regular Kyle Joseph took home the match ball after scoring a hat-trick against Bolton Wanderers U18’s last weekend. MacKenzie O’Neill made sure it was a quick start for the visitors opening the scoring on five minutes. Kyle Joseph joined the scoring tally soon after getting on the end of a loose ball in the six-yard box. The second came as a sublime ball from McGurk across the face was kept alive by O’Neill, and Kyle accepted the invitation to be first to the ball yet again. The game ended in a 5-1 victory and Latics’ 7th consecutive win of the season.
