Crown Football Round-Up (06/09/2019)

Congratulations to Ryan Kent who signed a permanent four-year deal with Rangers after spending the 2018/19 season on loan at Ibrox. His excellent form for the Scottish Premiership side, which included 40 appearances and six goals, earned him the accolade of PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year. The 22-year-old will join up with Steven Gerrard’s squad when the team return from the international break. Speaking exclusively to RangersTV he smiled: “I am delighted to be back here, it has been a quite a long summer, a lot of things could have potentially happened but I am delighted to be here. Good luck Ryan!


Juventus striker Stephy Mavididi has joined Ligue 1 side FCO Dijon on loan for the 2019/20 season. The 21-year-old made his first-team debut in April against SPAL and was named on the bench for a further three games as the Bianconeri secured another Serie A title. Good luck for the rest of the season Stephy!


17-year-old Taylor Harwood-Bellis made his debut for England U19’s in their match against Greece. They started their 2019-20 campaign with a 3-1 victory at St. George’s Park.


Kyle Joseph was called up to represent Scotland U19’s in their match against Japan on Thursday. Kyle was subbed on after 60 minutes and scored the equaliser and his debut goal for the national side. Congratulations Kyle!



Rovers loanee goalkeeper Christian Walton earned a place in the championship Team of the Week after his impressive penalty save against Hull City. Watch the fantastic save below:
