Crown Football Round-Up (12/04/2019)

Sheffield Wednesday U23's got back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Watford on Monday. Connor Kirby’s second half goal was enough to make sure the Young Owls secured a win in their last home game of the season. Watch Connor's goal below:



22-year-old Ryan Kent was awarded Rangers Young Player of the Year Award for 2018/19. Ryan thanked the Rangers fans for bringing out the best in him after they voted him Young Player of the Year. The 22-year-old has shone in his loan season from Liverpool and believes the Light Blues’ support have seen him peak in Glasgow. Congratulations Ryan!


18-year-old Zak Swanson made his debut for Arsenal U23’s in Premier League 2 this week. Arsenal extended their unbeaten streak to 7 games with a massive 5-0 win over Derby County on Monday. Zak’s debut comes just a week after signing a professional contract with Arsenal.


Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Man City U18’s are through to the FA Youth Cup final, after their 4-2 win over West Brom last week. Taylor played a strong central defensive role alongside Alpha Dionkou, Jeremie Frimpong and Eric Garcia. The final will be played at City Academy on Thursday 25th April.


Wigan Athletic U18’s were crown EFL Youth Alliance champions after a 2-0 victory over Bury on Tuesday. Kyle Joseph, who is a regular for the U18’s, has scored an impressive 22 goals for the squad this season.


Stoke City U23's winger Tre Pemberton has been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 March Player of the Month. Tre helped Stoke earn four points in two March matches. The 20-year-old midfielder scored as the Potters beat West Brom and then set up a goal in the draw at Norwich.



Henri Kumwenda scored 2 goals for Leeds United U18 in their match against Colchester at the weekend. Henri is the second top scorer in the U18's squad.
