Crown Football Round-Up (22/02/2019)

Adam Lewis has committed his future to Liverpool FC. This week, Adam signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool. The 19-year-old has been a regular member of Neil Critchley’s U23 side this season. Congratulations Adam! Both Adam and Corey Whelan have recently returned from the first-team training camp in Marbella, keen to catch the eye of manager Jurgen Klopp.

Kyle Joseph signed his first professional contract with Wigan Athletic this week. The Scotland youth international has penned two-and-a-half-year professional deal until summer of 2021. Kyle has scored 22 goals for Latics’ under-18s this season and also scored three goals for the development squad. He also recently won his first cap for Scotland Under 19s against Azerbaijan.

Stephy Mavididi has scored 2 goals in his last 2 games for Juventus U23. He scored an equaliser against Arezzo in the Serie C competition. Stephy also scored in their league game last weekend against Robur Siena. Stephy made a fantastic run past 4 defenders, eventually putting the ball in the back of the net. Watch the goal below:


Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Man City U18 have booked their place in the Premier League Cup final, after their emphatic win over Manchester United. The Young Blues also face Bournemouth U18 in the sixth round FA Youth Cup tie, which will take place on Tuesday 26th February.


Millwall have made it through to the quarter finals of the FA Cup after their 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon. Ryan Leonard provided an assist to the only goal in the game, as Murray Wallace headed home Ryan’s cross just 5 minutes into the game.

Millwall will host Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion in the quarter-finals. Ties will be played across the weekend of Friday 15th-Monday 18th March.


Tre Pemberton scored the first goal for Stoke City U23's this week, in their Premier League 2 match against Manchester United. The side secured a comfortable 3-1 win over United with a first half goal from Tre. A lofted ball from Tymon found the City man through the middle of the park, and after a quick turn beyond Lee O’Connor, the winger slotted the ball beyond the keeper.


17-year-old midfielder MacKenzie O'Neill made his international debut for Northern Ireland's Under 17s on Tuesday. MacKenzie started on Tuesday evening in the first of two friendlies against Greece at Stangmore Park and came close to netting on his debut. He also featured against Greece again on Thursday, playing for 35 minutes in a narrow 1-0 defeat.



Lewis Coulton was called up to the Scotland U16 for an International Development Tournament in Malta next month.
