Crown Football Round-Up (01/02/2019)

February 1, 2019

January transfer updates:

Danny Fox has signed a permanent contract with Wigan Athletic from Nottingham Forest. Danny has over 450 career appearances to his name, and brings a wealth of experience to Latics’ backline, having featured in the UEFA Champions League, Premier League and Championship. Latics manager Paul Cook said “Danny has great experience in the Premier League and Championship and is a great addition to our squad.”

Lloyd Jones has joined Plymouth Argyle one loan until the end of the season. Returning to his hometown club Plymouth, who sold him as an academy prospect to the Premier League giants in 2011, will hopefully give Lloyd the opportunity to play first team football to aid his development.

Calum Dyson has signed on loan with Stevenage Football Club until the end of the season. The Plymouth striker was Stevenage’s fourth Deadline Day signing and has been made with an option to buy.

Antony Evans from Everton has joined League One side Blackpool FC on loan until the end of the season.

Man City Academy player Ryan Corrigan has signed a permanent deal with Stoke City.

Tom Clayton signed his first 3 and a half year professional contract with Liverpool FC last week. Tom's contract is the longest Liverpool has given to a player from the youth academy in the club's history.

Rangers returned to form at Livingston last weekend with a superb win and performance against a team who have caused problems to so many sides in the Scottish Premiership. After going ahead in the first half through Ryan Jack, second half strikes from Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos secured the win for Rangers.  Ryan scored on the 48 minute mark when a rebound from Morelos fell to Kent and from a few yards out, he slammed the ball into the back of the net. Watch the fantastic goal below:

Millwall faced Premier League side Everton in the FA Cup fourth round last weekend. Ryan Leonard featured in Millwall’s starting 11. Murray Wallace's late, late winner saw Millwall come from behind to secure an Emirates FA Cup shock at The Den on Saturday evening as The Lions defeated the Premier League side 3-2. The Lions will travel to AFC Wimbledon in the fifth round of the competition on Saturday 16th February. Watch the highlights of the fourth round below:

Ten-man Manchester City booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup with a magnificent fifth round comeback win at Derby County last night. City were down 1-0 at half time, but on 58 minutes the Blues drew level as Taylor Harwood-Bellis headed home a curling Tommy Doyle corner and 2 minutes later Frimpong’s strike put the Young Blues ahead. Watch the highlights, including Taylor’s goal here.

Sam Gallagher has returned to first team action for Premier League side Southampton. Tomorrow the team will play away at Burnley, kick off at 3pm.
