Crown Football Round-Up (09/11/2018)

Liverpool U19's sealed progression from UEFA Youth League Group C with a 2-0 win over Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday. Curtis Jones and Adam Lewis scored second-half goals to secure an away victory. Adam helped seal the 2-0 victory, stepping up from nearly 30 yards to bend a brilliant free-kick into the top corner. The Young Reds are guaranteed a top-two finish, having 10 points from 4 games.

Adam has also been called up to the England U20 squad for their match against Germany this month. Congratulations Adam!

Man City U19's were also in action this week in the UEFA Youth League. Taylor Harwood-Bellis featured as part of City’s back four. A brilliant second-half performance from the Under-19s sealed a 4-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk. The result means City remain third in the Group F table, but increase their points tally to 4. Taylor was also called up the U21 squad for their Checkatrade Trophy fixture against Tranmere Rovers, in a game which ended in a 1-0 victory.

Bolton Wanderers U23s moved into first place in the Professional Development League, after defeating Sheffield Wednesday U23s 2-1 on Monday evening. Both Stephen Duke-McKenna and Luca Navarro were in the starting line-up. Just after the half hour mark Wanderers took the lead, as Luca fired home from the just outside the box. And in the remaining 4 minutes of the half Wanderers were awarded a penalty, which Luca slotted in the bottom right corner.

Stephen Duke-McKenna has been called up by the Guyana senior national team, as they take on French Guiana in the CONCACAF Nations League, where the youngster could make his debut for his country.
