Christian Walton re-joins Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan!

Christian Walton will re-join Latics for the 2018-19 campaign. Christian was a fundamental part of the success Latics achieved in 2017-18. Last season Christian won the Sky Bet League One Golden Glove and produced a number of memorable performances.

Speaking to iLatics today, Christian said “I’m obviously absolutely delighted to be back. The season didn’t start well for me last year by getting injured so early on but coming back in December and kicking on for the remainder of the season was unbelievable. It was a great season individually and collectively, so I’m really looking forward to the challenge of Championship football.

Speaking about securing Walton for another season, Latics boss Paul Cook said:

“This was a move we wanted to get done early and obviously prioritised in our recruitment.

“Christian and Jamie Jones were excellent for us last season and to have those two competing for the number one spot against is perfect.
